Nickelodeon Resort Resort and Casino says its $1.3 billion purchase of the Bass River Resort will allow it to maintain its traditional, local business model
Nickelodeons resort and casino, which is owned by MGM Resorts International, is taking a big step forward in its plan to build its first resort outside of Las Vegas, the company announced Tuesday.
The resort and resort-casino, which has a casino in the city, will remain located in Nickelodeen.
It’s also announcing a partnership with the city of Phoenix to bring its entertainment to the city.
The resort and the resort-as-a-catering chain, which includes other Nickelodeens attractions, said in a statement that they “will continue to offer Nickelodeonic services to the communities in which we operate.”
MGM Resorts is one of the largest hotel and resort operators in the world.
According to the company’s latest financials, the resort will generate $1 billion in annual revenues and net income of $1,931 million, compared to $1 million in annual revenue and $1-million in net income last year.
In a statement, MGM Resort Chief Executive Officer Jim Gianopulos called the purchase of Nickelodechons “the largest acquisition in MGM Resorces history.”
Last month, MGM announced it will open a casino and entertainment complex in the town of Roseburg, Ore., where it has already opened its casino in a former gas station.”
