When a shark attacked a Florida resort
Departing from a normal stay at a luxury resort, a Florida shark attacked and killed a family in an attack that was caught on camera and posted on social media.
According to reports from Florida’s Broward County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call of a shark attack at the Destin-Fort Lauderdale Resort and Spa on Friday, March 4, at around 3:30 p.m.
They found the shark with the bite mark on its neck and head.
The shark was reportedly taken to a local veterinarian.
Deputies say that the family was attacked by a large black male shark that was about 8 feet long, weighed about 100 pounds, and was swimming around the resort’s pool area.
The family members were able to escape unharmed.
While the shark was not aggressive to the family members, it had a tendency to chase them and try to eat them.
They say that at first, the family did not notice the shark, and the family’s father went to his room to get his cellphone.
The phone was not in his room, but the shark kept coming and biting the family member in the neck and neck area.
Deputies say the shark’s bite mark was a black mark on the victim’s neck.
They were able a local hospital treated the victim and then returned to the resort to receive more medical treatment.
The shark was later found to be dead, and deputies said that no foul play is suspected.
